Valley Retina Institute (VRI) offers a multitude of services.
The following is a list of the most common procedures done in our office.
1. Focal or grid laser to treat clinically significant macular edema.
2. Pan Retinal Photocoagulation (PRP) Laser- treats active proliferative diabetic retinopathy
3. YAG peripheral iridoplasty -
- to treat acute angle closure glaucoma
- used to prevent acute angle closure in patients with very shallow angles
4. Suture lysis- use argon laser to cut tight sutures after Ahmed tube placement in glaucoma patients
5. anterior chamber paracentesis - used to reduce intraocular pressure by withdrawing a/c fluid with 30 gauge needle; usually done after a cryoretinopexy after gas is injected in eye, or one day post-op patient with severe high intraocular pressures
6. Subtenon or subconjunctival steroid injection- used to reduce cystoid macular edema or quiet an eye that is actively inflamed, i.e. uveitis
