Our passion at VRI is to increase the longevity and quality of our services in every way possible. One method we use to reach our goal is through ongoing clinical research.

Valley Retina Research (VRR) is located in the main VRI office in McAllen. During the past ten years, trials have focused on patients diagnosed with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Persistent Macular Edema (PME), and non-clearing Vitreous Hemorrhage (VH).

Allergan, Jerini Ophthalmics, Genentech Inc., Alimira Sciences,
Novagali, Thrombogenics, Regeneron, ICO Therapeutics Inc. are the
companies that sponsor these clinical trials at VRI. We also conduct
our own independant research studies.

We are presently recruiting patients for groundbreaking pharma-
cokinetic studies sponsored by biotechnology leaders. Patients who
are diagnosed with “wet” ARMD and Diabetic Retinopathy varying
from non-proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy Diseases and meet
specific criteria may be considered to participate in these studies at
our institute.
